Exhibitions and conferences at Daniel Castle from Tălișoara, 17-20 March 2016

Between 17 and 20 March 2016, Daniel Castle from Tălișoara hosted a series of exhibitions and conferences organized within the project financed through EEA Grants, Programme PA16/RO12:

  • March 17th: LIVING CASTLE photo exhibition and film projections presenting the creative artistic camps.
  • March 18th: conference “350 years of living history”, dedicated to the mural wall paintings of the castle. János Fehér, art historian, conducted a guided tour of the castle and experts presented the research, restoration and reconstruction process of the paintings. The discussions were continued during the trip to Biborţeni and Herculian reformed churches. The day was concluded with a performance of medieval music and the book launch "Daniel Castle from Tălişoara and its Renaissance paintings of the 17th century" by János Fehér.
  • March 19th: “Valorisation of historical monuments or living history for another 350 years”, comprising of lectures and debates on revitalizing historical monuments. The last day of the event was dedicated to drawing conclusions regarding the LIVING CASTLE concept and program of Daniel Kastély Egyesület Association. On this occasion, the results of another project financed through EEA Grants, Castle in Transylvania: strategy and development models were presented by PONT Group. The closing of the event was marked with a performance by the Renaissance dances and flute ensemble Cygnini from Tălişoara and the opening of the exhibition “Revitalized castles and manors”, organized by ARCHÉ Association.
