The retrospective of the restoration works of the southern tower of the Medieval Roman Catholic Cathedral in Alba Iulia (video)

Around 1009, King Stephen of Hungary established the Transylvanian Bishopric. It is preserved today in its original form, but the cathedral was rebuilt at the beginning of the 13th century.

St. Michael's Cathedral in Alba Iulia is the oldest cathedral in Romania, a monument of Romanesque and early Gothic architecture. The southern tower of the cathedral offers a panoramic overview of the city and the historical monuments in its premises.

The project Revitalization and improving public access to the southern tower of the Medieval Roman Catholic Cathedral in Alba Iulia aimed at reopening the southern gate, restoring and refurnishing the interior of the southern tower and enabling public access to the cathedral.
