The Museum of Transylvanian Life was opened to the public

Within the project “Heritage initiative – the Museum of Transylvanian Life”, financed through EEA Grants, PA16/RO12 Programme, the Kalnoky Castle from Micloșoara (Covasna County) underwent an extensive restoration process. On Saturday, April 22nd 2017, the Museum of Transylvanian Life was inaugurated.

The event included a tour of the museum, a drawing exhibition and a scientific conference. The inauguration gathered representatives of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bucharest, of the Programme Operator - the Ministry of Culture and National Identity, of the project partner - INTBAU Scandinavia and of the local authorities. Also, the event was attended by professionals in cultural heritage restoration, arts history and mass-media representatives.

During the scientific conference, the Kalnoky Foundation was awarded the “Domokos Geza” Prize.  INTBAU Scandinavia, outlined the bilateral exchange of skills and teaching of traditional crafts within project implementation.

Such initiatives dedicated to heritage restoration should be encouraged among other historical monuments’ owners or holders.
