The Hungarian University Federation of Cluj (FUMC – KMEI) is implementing the project “Culture and Nature in Transylvania: Past and Future” through which a unique transdisciplinary and transnational research group is established that studies the cultural and natural heritage of Sălaj County in a common framework using the complex methodologies of ecology, art history, archaeology, cultural and visual anthropology.

On 27 June 2016, in a festive setting, took place the inauguration of the Benedek Mansion from Gheorgheni. From this moment, the building hosts the House of Popular Art Creation.

Between 13 and 19 June 2016, visitors of the Open Air Museum from Dumbrava Sibiului participated in activities organized within ASTRA Multicultural, an extensive event dedicated to making cultural heritage of ethnic minorities accessible for the general public.

The contractor successfully finished the restoration and conservation works at Benedek Mansion from Gheorgheni, a category B historical monument built in 1840.

Within the PA16/RO12 Programme Conservation and revitalisation of cultural and natural heritage, 28 projects with a total value of 71,862,272.54 RON are financed through EEA Grants 2009-2014.

Friday, 27th May 2016, took place the inauguration of the Multicultural Museum Pavilion, located at the main entrance of ASTRA Museum of Traditional Folk Civilization.

The Museikon project, implemented through EEA Grants – Programme PA16/RO12, aims at creating an icon museum in a heritage building which used to be a Military Hospital in the Habsburg period.

On 18th May 2016, Buzău County Museum organized the opening of „Walking around the globe. The story of 497 pairs of peasant sandals” exhibition.

ASTRA National Museum Complex will organize Friday, 27th May 2016, starting 12 p.m. the inauguration of the Multicultural Museum Pavilion, located at the main entrance of ASTRA Museum of Traditional Folk Civilization, Sibiu, 16 Dumbrava Forest.

Between 5th and 6th May 2016, at Benedek Manor in Gheorgheni, the event „Open Days” took place. The participants were students and local mass-media representatives. On this occasion, the constructor presented the project financed through EEA Grants and the works executed so far.
