Meeting with representatives of the local authorities

The Hungarian University Federation of Cluj (FUMC – KMEI) is implementing the project “Culture and Nature in Transylvania: Past and Future” through which a unique transdisciplinary and transnational research group is established that studies the cultural and natural heritages of Sălaj County in a common framework using the complex methodologies of ecology, art history, archaeology, cultural and visual anthropology. The project financed by EEA Grants meets the objectives of Programme PA16/RO12 “Conservation and revitalisation of cultural and natural heritage” and it is implemented in partnership with Bergen University Museum, and the Nordic Anthropological Film Association.

Within the project will be organized eight public meetings with local communities in the study area. The project team has recently met the mayors of Crasna, Boghiș, and Ip Communes and the vice mayor of Nușfalău Commune, in order to discuss the local opportunities and to plan these public events. The discussions took place in a friendly atmosphere. The representatives of local authorities ensured the project team with regards to their support to organize the public meetings. They also manifested their interest for the results of the project implemented by FUMC, considering it most useful from the perspectives of the region's development.
